Lumibility presents at CT Tech Tools for Life Assistive Tech at its Best Conference
On June 9th, 2025, Jamie Martin, Lumibility’s Assistive Technology Manager, had the privilege of co-presenting with Paul Carpenter, CEO of BoundaryCare, to show how two very different roles—tech innovator and assistive technology practitioner—can come together to create meaningful impact.
The CT Tech Tools for Life session focused on the practices Jamie developed while building the AT Department at Lumibil-AT, grounded in a person-first mentality. At Lumibil-AT, we don’t start with devices—we start with people. Our person-centered, collaborative approach ensures that technology supports independence, not just installation.
Building strong relationships with vendors like BoundaryCare has been key—not only do I learn from how other states operate, but these partnerships also help vendors better understand the unique needs of the individuals we support. That mutual understanding becomes especially valuable when challenges arise, allowing us to problem-solve together and keep the focus where it belongs: on the person.
